In all my past posts, I have again and again stressed on the importance of good content. This content may be images, videos or written words. There are thousands of new websites, self-help books and niche magazines springing up everyday. Most of these outsource their content. So, if you think you can write well, and have been writing previously for any magazine, blog or site, here’s your jackpot! Start writing for these info-based-products that need content updating almost everyday. And every word you write will get you green cash!
Where do I find them?
Online! Everything today is available at the click of your mouse. And everything can be done, sitting at home. There are a lot of websites that act as middleman between the content users and content providers. All you need to do is register yourself as a provider on one or two such site and start writing! There is no cost involved. Neither does it require you to have any website of your own!
Step by step
1. Google search for freelance content writing jobs.You will come across websites like:
Getafreelancer.com;
Freelanceindia.com;
Writingbids.com; etc.
2. Register yourself as a provider and enrol in their payment programme eg. Paypal.
3. Upload some of your past work for reference. This will work as your online portfolio that will help you in the selection process.
4. Find an appropriate content writing project from the listed projects. Study the specifications carefully and understand its purpose and scope.
5. Place a bid. This is how you set the price of your work online. A bid should be big enough to justify all your costs and efforts involved in completing the project, yet small enough to be able to compete with other bidders online! The lowest bid will, of course, get the deal!
6. Once you’ve won the bid, start writing. Most of these sites provide you with a private space where you can talk to the content user directly clarify your doubts and negotiate your terms of work. Once you have successfully completed two or three projects, work will automatically start flowing in and you will start minting money online, sitting at home!
7. If you have enough work flowing in, you can even hire a few writers and start your own online content writing firm! It will be the beginning of your own online business, without any capital investment!

Many of these websites provide a lot more opportunities, other than content writing. If you have capabilities in designing, research, finance or any other field, you may also want to bid for other projects, which will offer you an additional source of generating income online.
